All Star Dryland Tiles: Tri State Hockey

Welcome to the HockeyShot All Star Dryland Tile Training Center Series, where we feature hockey facilities across the globe that use the Industry’s Slickest Shooting & Stickhandling Tiles. This series is specifically designed to showcase the way All Star Dryland Tiles set-ups are being used for training all levels of players and to highlight the ice-like performance of this surface as it relates directly to mimicing puck movement resembling real ice.

At HockeyShot, we are passionate about offering the right surface for your intended practice of skills. While we offer 3 types* of Synthetic Ice, we also offer 2 non-skateable Sport Tiles suited for practicing the best sport in the world!

The MY Projects section on our website was created to provide a visual exhibit of both commercial and residential training spaces that have been completed with at least ONE model of HockeyShot flooring and in most instances, a multitude of other HockeyShot training products.

However, it does not stop there! The MY Projects Division at HockeyShot also exists as a team of multiple personnel readily available to communicate via phone, video or email, in order to facilitate consultation in regard to our inline skus, customization of 3rd party product and lastly, piece of mind as it relates to purchase and delivery of your order.

Go ahead and snipe through the project below!

From the ice up, the MY Projects staff have assisted on numerous Commercial and Residential set-ups using All Star Dryland Tiles as the most ice-like, non-skateable surface on the market.

The Swonder Arena in Evansville, IN is equipped with two NHL size rinks. And, as of June 2022 it opened it’s doors to the TriState Hockey Academy training center. From skates to shoes and vice versa! Now the TriState community it serves, can handle even more bandwidth of team and private sessions from all over Missouri, Kentucky, and Indiana!

Mark Cody-originally from Halifax, NS- spent most of his last Pro playing years in Evansville and now runs skill development for most of the AAA and travel teams. With access to ice and off-ice space under one roof, it was an easy decision to equip the mostly vacant lower-level concourse.

Big time foot traffic, easy access and parking, ultra high ceilings with natural light- not to mention pillar supports almost designed for our 8’ x 16’ Crowd Goes Wild Tarp. While netting above the tarps needed to be considered, the anchoring feat was made easy by the positioning of the concrete pillars!

Given that Swonder Arena was already equipped with two ice rinks, Mark decided the athletes would best be served by a large open surface of All Star Dryland Tiles. Configuration was based on the full width and length of vacant concourse (28.5’ x 69’) with 3 Shooting Tarps on the skylight side and padded garage doors on arena side. When shooting lanes need to be separated, foam divider borders are added to the surface!

The facility not only boasts the expansive training surface of slick tiles, but an arsenal of off-ice training tools:

Getting the local arena to accept having a private training facility built next to two sheets of ice is not always an easy task. What it boils down to is that it's so great for the hockey community but also a phenomenal introduction to hockey for newcomers to the game. When the MY Projects team originally saw the video of the space to be outfitted, it was time to giddyup! Thanks to Mark for letting us be part of this build out.
